NHCTE, the statewide professional association that advances and supports career and technical education (CTE), is thrilled to announce the 2026 CTE Teacher of the Year. This year’s honoree is Gordon Reynolds, Computer Science Teacher at Portsmouth High School in Portsmouth, NH.
Gordon aims for all his students to succeed in learning Computer Science content, regardless of their wide range of abilities. His effort to provide support and high-quality instruction is truly commendable, and he also makes learning fun, which motivates students to learn and improve their skills. His students can be self-directed in their learning by accessing course content and materials and working independently at their own pace. He acts as a guide and supports them along the way. His knowledge of the course content is deep, and he helps students grasp material and work through challenges by thinking critically.
Mr. Reynolds was recognized on June 6th 2026, at the 32nd annual New Hampshire Excellence in Education Awards (Edies) in Manchester. He also gave the keynote speech at the summer conference in July at the Mountain View Grand Hotel in Whitefield, NH. NH-CTE is immensely proud of Gordon, whose dedication as a teacher and colleague continues to enrich both our organization and the Portsmouth School District.
